Google Drive is undoubtedly the most popular and reliable cloud storage. For storing files, keeping backup and synchronizing it with other Google services, Google Drive serves at its best. It’s also safe and secure, keeping the data as long as the user doesn’t delete it once uploaded. Files and data can be shared with other devices using Google drive.
In this article, a common error that Google drive users face ‘Waiting to upload’ will be taken care of. This error ‘Waiting to upload’ can arise to anyone and is very much discussed in the troubleshooting section of Google’s forum.. It may happen due to network issues while switching between networks and uploads are in progress. Switching Network here can be moving from WiFi to cellular or vice versa. It can also be due to any other reason just like any other error that happens due to malfunctions.
The server of Google, your network, outdated app etc can be a reason and this can possibly be solved by following the methods given below:
To do so you need to run the app and go through settings and tap on the clear cache option.
This should be helpful in many cases.
Force Stop The Drive
Once you initiate the process of clearing cache you might have to close the app and force stop it which can be done by long pressing on the app icon and going to its info. The process is the same in the most device but if not working try going to app info from app list in device settings to get force stop option. Force stopping the application may cause a little lag or misbehaviour in functions but it will get normal with usage.
Enabling Upload Over Cellular Data
Mostly by default, the apps come with default settings of upload and download under WiFi connection. In many cases when WiFi is not available this error ‘Waiting to upload’ might come and won’t upload further. By allowing upload over cellular data, the error can be solved sometimes.
Reinstalling The Google Drive
If the error keeps coming after trying everything you should probably try reinstalling it as above mentioned methods have been mostly working to get rid of this error. Alternatively, restarting the device is also a good workaround. Although, this is not the best solution you might like to try it if nothing is working.
Update If Outdated
Sometimes when apps are outdated they can’t work properly with the servers that are working for a newer version of the same app. Update the Google drive app if not updated already.
Errors can be annoying as they are not something you can’t fix as they can be a malfunction in the server or the application itself. Do try the methods given above in this article and check them yourself if they are working or not. If working tries sharing them with others who were unable to solve the issue when faced by them.
